Vita First Mattress

Vita First is an innovative mattress design made from 100% of Vita's sustainable technology. It comprises two sustainable foam products, Orbis Plus MB and Novus, a reconstituted foam. 

Sustainability is at the heart of this mattress's design by combining our latest foam technology, using zero adhesives for an easier end-of-life recycling and by covering the finished product with a Global Recycled Standard (GRS) sustainable cover.

Novus is constructed through a process of bonding granulated post-industrial trim that are reintroduced into the production cycle. Vita First mattress uses a new Novus grade with only 40 Kg/m3 density for enhanced comfort and durability.  

Orbis Plus MB is made using TDI* produced by Covestro with ~50% ISCCPLUS** bio-circular attributed mass balance feedstock while relying on Vita's unique formula which uses a variable combination of bio-based polyol and recycled polyol to produce sustainable foam containing up to 100% sustainable polyol. By doing so, we are able to offer products with a reduced impact on the environment whilst still being able to offer the same high-quality, durability and comfort that our customers expect from Vita products.

When producing the raw materials for the mattress, a significant share of fossil resources is replaced at the beginning of the supply chain such as by bio-circular material, e.g. from plant waste. These renewable resources have a much better sustainability profile and lead to a significant CO2 reduction of the mattress and decrease the dependency on fossil resources. By doing so, we are able to offer both: reducing the impact on the environment and ensuring the same a high-quality, durability and comfortable of the flexible polyurethane foam mattress. Mass Balance (MB) is the certified methodology to bring more sustainable raw materials into production chains.
