ORSA foam launches Recycla: the polyurethane that looks to the future
ORSA foam takes a decisive step towards sustainability with Recycla®, the new range of polyurethane foams made with recycled polyols from the recovery of scrapped mattresses and PET plastic. A concrete project that combines innovation, quality and respect for the environment, without sacrificing performance.
Thanks to an advanced chemical recycling process, it is possible to transform end-of-life mattresses into new resources, reducing dependence on fossil raw materials and contributing to the circular economy.
The Recycla® Polyether range originates from the recovery of polyurethane foam from scrapped mattresses, brought back to the polyol state to give rise to new quality foams. Recycla® Polyester, on the other hand, uses polyols obtained from recycled PET, allowing the value of post-consumer plastic to be restored and limiting the dispersion of waste into the environment.
At the same time, ORSA foam has chosen to integrate small quantities of recycled polyols into its traditional products wherever possible, gradually reducing the use of fossil raw materials. Even a small change, applied on a large scale, can generate a big impact. With Recycla® and the widespread use of recycled polyols, ORSA foam invites the industry to be part of this transformation, helping to reduce the environmental footprint of the supply chain.
