TAKA’s bio-based hot melt polyurethane adhesives

TAKA is an Italian company that stands out for the quality of raw materials and expertise in the industrial adhesive sector.

The focus on the environment in terms of people and environmental footprint has led TAKA to develop a new line of adhesives for the furniture industry:

A complete product line of bio-based PUR adhesives with a 20% content of renewable raw materials.

In order to develop this new generation of green adhesives, it was not enough to replace conventional raw materials with bio-based resources, TAKA has researched and tested new formulations with a view to improving process efficiency and improving the adhesive properties.

Currently in the range there are mainly adhesives for edgebanding, profie wrapping and flat lamination but we are looking to complete the portfolio for all kinds of applications.

· 2810.28P: is suitable for laminating PVC, aluminium or MDF profiles with CPL, PVC, PET, ABS, PMMA foils. Its excellent wettability enable it to adhere strongly to various substrates from wood to its derivatives.

· 3810.20 is the adhesive suitable for edge banding smooth, MDF and chipboard panels. It is suitable for gluing all types of plastic board (ABS, PVC, PP, PS etc.) but to that in wood and wood derivates

· The 3810.5F edge banding adhesive has a high initial tack that allows subsequent in-line processing and is particularly suitable for wrapping flexible joints of cabinet backs due to its high elasticity.

Using these adhesives means contributing to cut carbon emissions because they are based on non-fossil sources.

The aim of TAKA is to extend this new technology to all the other adhesive lines produced for both interior and exterior applications in order to create an overall sustainable growth plan.
