More than 93 per cent of the exhibition space available at interzum 2025 already booked for 2027

Leading international trade fair resolutely drives sustainable transformation forward

Technological innovations, sustainable materials and visionary product ideas are the focus of the interzum award, which is organised every two years by interzum for the furniture supply industry. In 2025, the international jury assessed 146 submissions from 23 countries in the 13th edition of the competition - and awarded 66 of them. Twelve entries were honoured with the highest award, the “Best of the Best”, for outstanding innovative achievements.

From 20 to 23 May 2025, Cologne will once again play host to the global furniture supplier and interior design industry. More than 1,600 exhibitors from over 55 countries will be presenting their innovations and future-focused solutions at interzum, the sector’s leading international trade fair. This year’s central theme, Rethinking Resources: Circular and Bio-based Solutions, is at the heart of the event, generating fresh momentum for the sustainable transformation of the furniture production and interior design business along the entire value chain.

In two months’ time, the big moment will have arrived: From 20 to 23 May 2025, interzum will take place in Cologne, and international suppliers to the furniture and interior design industries will gather once again for the trade fair. The final preparations for the industry’s most important event in the world are in full swing, and the high level of registrations is further confirmation of the relevance of the leading international trade fair for the sector.

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is helping young, innovative businesses to participate in interzum 2025 by funding up to 60 per cent of their stand costs.

As of today, exhibitors participating in interzum 2025 can enter their new technical developments, advanced materials, exciting product innovations, concepts and processes for the interzum award 2025. Suppliers from across the world that serve the furniture and interior design industry have until 21 February 2025 to make their submissions and see how they measure up to the global competition.

The circular economy and biobased solutions as sustainable sources of resources for furniture production and interior design are set to be the focus of interzum 2025. With this new central theme, the sector’s leading international trade fair will continue to provide clear momentum for the sustainable stewardship of raw materials at next year’s event. Many different aspects of the industry-relevant central theme will be presented on the Koelnmesse exhibition grounds from 20 to 23 May 2025 and brought to life in showcases for participants to experience. The theme will be discussed as part of the diverse event programme and addressed by numerous innovative products and concepts presented by exhibitors.

interzum will be the most important global meeting point for the furniture industry’s supplier sector once again in 2025. The excellent registration figures at the end of the early-bird discount period are further proof of the trade fair’s position as a vital marketplace for all those wanting to play a role in the development of future-focused solutions for living and working environments.
