Rethink Furniture – LESS BUT BETTER We are facing profound changes. The transition from a linear to a circular economy is one of the key challenges of our time. But this change affects much more than just recycling at the end of a product's life cycle - it begins with the selection of materials, influences the manufacturing processes, shapes use and ideally ends in sustainable recycling that reduces waste to a minimum. In view of these challenges, one might be tempted to put forward a radical thesis: let's just do less. Produce less, consume less, create less complexity. But is that really the essence of LESS BUT BETTER? Or does "less" mean leaving out the unnecessary, making more conscious decisions and putting sustainable values ​​above short-term economic success? Is it about critically questioning our consumer behavior and actually implementing improvements where we can do better? It's not about resetting the product world to zero. Instead, we should continue to develop them consistently - with the courage to innovate, openness to new materials and an aesthetic that changes with change. Perhaps LESS BUT BETTER also means rethinking our idea of ​​growth and instead focusing on long-term, valuable solutions. We are highlighting this challenge in our special exhibition area. Here we show and discuss innovations and topics that the industry must deal with today and in the near future. Which materials and processes are setting new standards? How can design, function and sustainability be more closely intertwined? And how do we manage to actively shape change instead of just following it?
