Ecodesign-Regulation ESPR: Tasks and Opportunities

The EU Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 affects almost all products and, as a framework regulation, is the basis for future product-specific delegated acts. It is highly likely that furniture will also be included in the work plan to be presented by the EU Commission by April 2025. The presentation will deal, on the one hand, with the catalogue of requirements that the ESPR calls for as a framework regulation and from which the requirements that the EU Commission considers suitable for furniture will then be defined.On the other hand, the presentation will address the emerging requirements for the furniture industry from the perspective of the furniture associations of the German furniture industry and the activities derived from them with regard to the resulting tasks but also opportunities.
