Prof. Dr. phil. Dipl. Des. Marina-Elena Wachs
Marina-Elena Wachs is industrial-designer, master tailor, tailor directress. In the year 2007, she graduated at Braunschweig University of Art with the thesis “Material Mind – New Materials in Design, Art and Architecture” (https://www.verlagdrkovac.de/978-3-8300-3292-2.htm). Since 2010 she held a Professorship in Theory of Design at Hochschule Niederrhein - University of Applied Sciences, Faculty Textile and Clothing Technology and was invited as guest lecture in Sweden, Great Britain and Italy. She has experiences as consultant for design companies and architects, and cooperates with brands, museums, schools and foundations. Her present research focuses on interdisciplinary, hierarchy less and cross-cultural design engineering in Europe. Marina Wachs’ intended aim is on corporate social responsibility in material and cultural behaviour, about a ‘design shift’ and ‘materialising immateriality’: sketching the future together in analogue + digital linked design areas.
