According the motto "Digitalization - Focus on Consumer Trends!", digitalization solutions and disruptive technologies were presented at interzum 2019. Digitalization, often referred to as the fourth industrial revolution, is also penetrating people's homes and living spaces.
It ranges from digitalization in furniture itself to new experiences in the selection and purchase of living environments to completely new business models. The demands of end customers have risen in many ways:
- Expectations of solutions for smaller living spaces, rental furniture and sharing models for living and working spaces, sustainable production, use and recycling
- Wishes for individualisation of living landscapes and personalisation of furniture
- Expectations of digitalization in furniture and accessories
In short, it's about sustainability, individualisation, comfort in living and shopping. Digital solutions, whether in production, in furniture or in the living area, help to meet these demands. With the help of practical and innovative examples, manufacturers and fitters can take impulses for their work with them.
The "Digitalization" piazza in Hall 3.2 featured around 450 square metres of exhibits focusing on the key fields of innovation.
In addition to the exhibition, Digital Connection has staged a congress event on three days of the fair with 12 lectures and panel discussions on the key topics of "new business models and production methods", "consumer expectations and their experience with furniture" and "digitalization in the retail trade", a look beyond the confines of the furniture industry.
