After more than two decades of developing the idea of printing houses, in October 2020 the first residential building in Germany was printed by the company Peri in Westphalia: The next step of a transformation process for the building industry into a digitalized business with all it potentials of reducing costs and building time. This transformation will have a huge impact on how we work in the building industry but also on the possibilities in interior design. In this panel Jörg Petri (BASF Forward AM), Nail Förderer (Deton3D) and Martin Staudinger (3D Betondruck Solutions) discuss the potential of additive manufacturing in future construction. Some of the questions are: Will the possibilities of 3D printing influence the way designers work? How digital will the planning process in construction be? How will a construction site look like in future?
