Germany's first 3D printed single-family home was implemented in October. After a long phase of development, the possibilities of 3D building printing are based on the assumption that building will change significantly in the future. The first mobile 3D printing systems promise the production of entire building structures directly on the construction site, with significantly reduced use of resources and personnel and, in some cases, lower costs. Most of the 3D printed buildings are still demonstrations and prototypes. But in view of the advantages in terms of flexibility, precision, time and material savings, increasing dynamics are expected. Whether concrete, clay, steel, plastic or metal: The development of additive technologies and processable materials are interdependent and the subject of a large number of current development projects at companies and research institutions. In his introduction, Hon.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters will present some of the most interesting buildings printed so far and present some lighthouse projects.
