NUO – a wooden textile for unusual shapes!

NUO is an innovative wood-textile composite that turns the material world upside down! For the first time at Interzum 2023, Schorn & Groh will present to the industry one of its most innovative product developments of recent years, the fascinating "soft wood" NUO. The patented material is as soft as leather and as pliable as fabric – yet completely animal-free and made from real wood. NUO is made of high-quality veneer that comes exclusively from sustainable forestry. The thin real wood (0.5 mm) is bonded with a textile carrier and then lasered. The fine engraving gives the wood surface its flexibility. NUO can be shaped three-dimensionally and is therefore ideal for unusual shapes, for covering furniture and upholstery as well as for high-quality interior finishing, such as wall and ceiling panelling with an acoustic effect. NUO was submitted as an innovative wood textile for the Interzum Award 2023.
