With the aim of addressing a very special topic that is currently the focus of lively debate in the sector, we decided to organize a competition for students – the “interzum future challenge 2007”.

The focus of the competition was lightweight construction from the perspectives of economy, processing technology and design. Working with these criteria the participants submitted design entries showing possible future applications in the furniture industry and interior sector and the potential for industry, trade and consumers in the year 2020. The winning designs were exhibited at a special area along the Boulevard.
